Developments in modern science and technology has allowed us to explore manufacturing of products with a wide variety of materials. These changes have influenced recent  developments of screw technology, such as biodegradable interference screws and dissolvable screws that are now used for medical purposes.

No longer does the patient need to endure the pain of major surgeries with biodegradable bone screws that are made up of 50% bone. The dissolvable nature has also empowered the conventional screw to no longer function as a holding agent, but part of the material itself. One can only imagine what other surprises the humble screw has in store for us for future developments!
